June 18-21 Champagne Blending Escape

Be among the first people outside of the legendary Drappier family to make Champagne with 7th generation winemakers Michel and Hugo Drappier, while we discover this historic and legendary wine region. We will visit some of the most famous independent and family producers, and partake of the unique local cuisine, paired perfectly with, of course, many different styles of Champagne. We think this region and its wines will surprise even those who are already Champagne connoisseurs.

Winemaking

Michel Drappier understands the responsibility that being a 7th generation winemaker of a venerable Champagne family entails. He, and now his son Hugo, carry on the family tradition of a reverence for the Pinot Noir grape, as well as his own mission to rescue several otherwise forgotten local grape varieties. Members will be granted unprecedented and otherwise impossible access to these and the family’s exquisite Chardonnay wines, as well as the Champagne-making prowess of this legendary family, to make their personalized Champagne blends.

Accommodations

Domaine Les Crayères, a mythical property in the heart of Reims, nestled discreetly in a seven-hectare park full of green vegetation. This former house of the De Polignac family permanently recreates and modernizes the “Chateau” style in an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.

Daily Itinerary
